    Write off health related expenses on Tax
    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me please or provide information as to if I can write off some of the health related expenses (specifically expenses on medications, hospital visits for outpatient surgery or copays). Or what kind of health related expenses I can write off and what is the criteria to qualify to be able to write off in TAX. Is there some sort of calculation that I need to perform based on salary or something and if yes where I can find that information.

    How does about scenario work, if we are filing jointly as married?

    You can deduct medical expenses only to the extent that they exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. You show your expenses on Line 1 of schedule A as one of your itemized deductions. You can include typical expenses such as co-pays, doctors visits, prescriptions, etc. assuming you were not reimbursed for these by your insurance. See the instructions for Schedule A for details:
