    Disable Spam Filter/MSFT Outlook?
Microsoft Outlook has a spam filter that is worthless. It catches the ones I want to see and ignores all the rest. I have messed around with rules wizard so that at least some of the ones I want show up ( in gray with a red exclamation mark, lol). I now have the whole AVG package which works pretty well and I would like to disable the spam /anti-spam feature on Outlook. I cannot figure out how to do this. Please help. Thank you very much for any help. John

Which version are you using? Also, please confirm that it is Outlook and not Outlook Express that you are using.

If you're using ms outlook - click on tools then options and in the prefernces tab you will see Junk e-mail - click on that and click No automatic filtering

For outlook express, there seems to be a plugin that you may have

Outlook 2003 has 4 features that need to be looked at:
    Junk E-Mail Filter
    Safe Senders List
    Safe Recipients Lists
    Blocked Senders List
Here's a tutorial for Outlook 2003:Outlook SPAM Tutorial

    Outlook 2000 is a rule-based setup
Here's a tutorial for Outlook 2000:Outlook SPAM Tutorial

NOTE: These tutorial are for setting up spam filtering; however, they are easy to understand so just do everything in reverse

It is late and I got to hit the sack!

This must be outlook 2000 because under tools.preferences junk mail is not listed at all ,no ref to safe senders, blocked or otherwise. I have the one w/ mr rules wizard and that is a piece of you no what. I thank you for the tutorials. I don't think they give me the option of shutting the filter like later versions do and frankly it is more trouble than it is worth to try to go through all those steps to try and make it work properly. I have spent hours out of sheer determination that I was not going to let this damn machine have its own way. Well, I think... to hell with it. But I do appreciate your willingness to help. Wish I could return the favor
