    If there are 100000 common shares outstanding. And earnings per share is $5 what is the net income for the year:confused:

    You have $5 of earning per each one share of stock. And you have 100,000 shares. So what's total income?

    I think you're trying to make this complicated because it stock. But the math is no different than if you bought 5 gallons of milk and they cost $3.25 each. How much total did you spend?
