Hello. I entered into a lease/purchase agreement on a house a year ago. The agreement was for 7 years then I bought the house. It also said that if something was wrong with the house structarly then the owner would have to refund the 10000 down. Well it has termites really bad. It also says that if I go for six months without paying that the or owner can then take the house back. The thing is since she can't pay the 10000 back, she told us to live here for 7 months without paying then that could be our downpayment back. It's been 4 months and we decided that we want to fix the problem ourselves and start paying again. She said that she wants to just take the house back and she is refusing my payment. What I want to know is that legal for her to refuse the payment, or does she have to take the money and leave us alone here? Should I get a lawyer and try to fight for the house or will I lose?
