    Electrical Box Spacing
I've got two 22 cubic inch plastic new construction electrical boxes, one on each side of the same wall and they are practically touching. Is this OK? Is there a required distance that they must be separated for heat dissapation or for any other reason? Both boxes will be for light switches on the same 15 amp circuit but controlling different lights.

    Thanks in advance!

Thi only limitation is the wall plate. You possibly don't want to have to trim down the wall plate. A 4 Gang Looks Much nicer than 2 2 gangs stacked or side by side.

Thanks for the reply Strat but the boxes are serving two different rooms. Each box is on the opposite side of the same wall, one to control the bedroom lights and the other outside in the hallway to control the hall light.

To better clarify, the boxes open up into different rooms so one faceplate will be in the bedroom and one faceplate will be in the hall.

You are perfectly fine. They can even be touching.
