    Painting metal on shower doors
Updating an outdated bathroom. The shower doors have gold trim. Is there any way to paint the metal and not have the water damage it?

Yes.. and no. You could scuff the metal and paint it... BUT it will not last... not long.. will begin to chip off very quickly. And the time involved to remove saop scum... never mind stuff in the creases/edges... etc. and then scuff, apply metal primer, and then paint... not worth your time.

My opinion now, but they sell shower doors at home depot and Lowe's for around 175.oo. Easy remove, easy replace. Hope this helped.

Painting doors and shutters [ 2 Answers ]

Hi all. My HOA has asked me to paint, or replace my front door. There's really nothing wrong with the door, or jambs, so I'm not interested in buying a new one. The door is steel, with a faux woodgrain finish (no... it wasn't my choice - probably one of the "HOA approved" doors when the house...
