Do you already have a host for your website? What would be your purpose to having a website, please? Did you know that there are a number of places on the Internet where you can build a website for free?

Also, if you post a free blog on some websites, it's very much like having your own website. Additionally, a word processing program such as Microsoft Word has the capabilities of helping and enabling you to design and list a website.

The following three searches would be good places to start, if by chance you are interested in having a free website or blog. Most of the tools that you would need to design, complete and update your website or blog are already on the sites that you will find.

    Free Website - Google Search

Free Website googlepages.com - Google Search

    Hello goldenval2004,

First, let me tell you that "all websites and website builders are not created equal" so I offer this advice: When searching for a website builder, try to give examples of a few website designs that might meet your needs (ie, provide links to the sites) and also include a short description of your requirement (ie, I just need a nice looking site with links to a few pages that will display some additional information or I need a website that supports a bookstore with a database and credit card transactions or I need a full-blown e-commerce site with all the bells and whistles). All of this "up-front" advertising will make it easier on both you and any prospective website designers to respond to your inquiry. FYI, I did very well as a part-time web designer back in the late 90s (when websites were simple to build) but I wouldn't even attempt to do it for profit these days because they are much more complicated. So, see... I read my own advice and immediately disqualified myself!

I will agree with Clough, some of the web sites that are sold, have fairly simple methods to make a pretty good web site.
For example, while not over the top by any means, take a look at our churches web site, One of the brothers do it, and they know little about computers. Some problems but a person with more practice could take care, we even take donations off the site.

    FR_Chuck and Clough,

I mistakenly addressed my previous post to Clough when it should have been addressed to goldenval2004. Sorry for the confusion and sorry for the mixup Clough. I have since corrected my original post to direct it to goldenval2004.
