    Ceiling fan
We purchased a remote-control ceiling fan with light about 5 years ago. Lately, it has been turning on by itself. Either the light will come on or the fan will come on. Sometimes they will go off by themselves or we have to turn them off. The light will turn off and on and get bright or dim by itself. The fan will either be on slow speed or fast or sometimes even reverse.

We live near a marine air base and wonder if planes could set it off, although we don't know why they would start bothering after all this time.

Perhaps there is something in the fan itself that needs to be replaced?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Something in your area is interfering with the fan. You need to change the frequency of the fan and remote. See:
