I have a cinder block basement in a house that was built in '71. Due to settlement, there may be cracks between blocks and wall that allow mice to get in. How could I seal the house from the outside/or the inside to avoid the mice, which terrify me? I will appreciate your help.

All the movement seams to be in 1 area.The wall that is cracked does not have a footing all at the same elevation. The wall is opprox. 6ft.then steps to up from the footing 16 inches higher....
