Wonder where the current situation in Iran stems from?

Americans did this all over the world.
Take a look at the history of latin america or the middle east. The pattern repeats itself. The US is once again trying to suppress local governments in order to install governments aligned to the profits of their corporations.
I don't know if americans learn this on their schools, I know I did.
I wonder if americans trully knew what their government does in their names things would be different.
For a more recent case of US intervention do some research on the 2002 coup attempt in Venezuela.

Please provide any evidence you have of American involvement in any alleged coup attempt in Venezuela in 2002.

I am well aware of the mistakes the US made in Iran. Ironically when President Bush tried to change US policy from the realpolitik causes of our previous mistakes he has been criticized and advised to follow the policies of the past.

I see no evidence of US involvement . The way he has run the country into the ground he is lucky he hasn't gotten a bullet in the head.

Ok see what you will. The thread is mostly about the US removing an existing democratic government in Iran for their own benefit.

People don't just hate the US for no reason, your leaders have a hand in riling up the population of those countries.

Like I said in my first response ;I am well aware of our history with Iran . That doesn't mitigate the threat they pose today to the rest of the civilized world .

I post this for you Karma if you want to read an insiders view of what our government really does around the world. BTW, you can't tell these neocons anything. They only read the Murdock Street Journal.
Iran is trying to open their own oil exchange and value their oil in another currency. Same thing Iraq was doing. There are only two oil exchanges in the world. Guess who owns both. Our government will not stand for them doing as they please with "our" oil. U.S. has been interfering with Iran since the late 40's. One puppet after another to control resources.

We have been involved in world affairs since conception. So, what is the complaint, that we have played the game to our advantage? That ethically and morally we have not lived up to your lofty ideals? Or that we should build fences around America and all stay with-in those fences?

My only point is that we will reap what we sow. We have reaped the riches for so long but now the rest of the world is tired of it and they want to manage their own affairs. We can either beat them into submission as usual, or learn to become self sufficient. I think we need to become self sufficient. We can't go on with military bases all over the world that over see our interests. That system is not working real well. Time for a real change from the inside out.

Self sufficient ? Regarding what ? Energy supply ? You know as well as I that we could not possibly keep our economy going with domestic sources alone.

So it is impossible I guess. I suppose we will just have to take over the world and extract everything we need to keep every Americans crusing the streets and Walmarts shelfs stocked and the drive through at burger King open. You are right, we have a certain standard we have become used to and I don't want anyone's sovereignty getting in the way of that... even ours.

It is obvious that you have no knowledge of Iranian history (Unless it is from their propaganda). Where are you operating out of…let me guess: The Holy Land Foundation of Richland, Texas maybe. Iran has been a Rouge Nation (Even their neighbors attest to that) since 1979. They have since been training Hezbollah Terrorist and sending them around the world. How many countries in the world support it? In 1995 Clinton by executive Order banning all trade with Iran…Conoco opposed it because it cost them a billion-dollar deal, but never the less had to comply. So much for our government being aligned to the profits of their corporations
