Obtaining a Quiet Deed for a Boundary Adjustment
In Michigan: Several years ago, we purchased 3 acres from a farmer and built on it. A year after our original purchase he offered us an additional acre for a small amount and we accepted. The farmer filed a "boundary adjustment" to our property and that adjustment is reflected on the legal description of our property on our taxes, but we don't actually have deed for that additional acre. This caused a minor problem when we applied for a new mortgage and the mortgage specialist suggested we apply for a quiet deed. Since we have a legal description of it and are paying taxes on it, I "assume" it won't to too difficult. But what exactly do we need to do?

    Thanks for any info

    Hello J:

What do you do? You march yoursefl down to a real esate attorney's office. I know you didn't pay much for that additional acre. But you really want to make sure you own it, don't you?
