Shower Faucet will not get cold & have pressure
I have a shower faucet that as you turn to get hot gains pressure. However, to get it to a reasonable temperature I have to turn it almost back to the off and the pressure is then extremely weak. How do I adjust this to mix the water properly and still have good pressure?

This sounds like a bad mixing valve. A single lever temperature control valve has separate hot and cold lines feeding the mixing valve. As you swing the lever from Hot to cold, the mixer decreases hot water flow and increases cold water flow. If the cold water valve control inside the mixer is not opening properly this could result in decreased cold water flow. To test this, you should place the lever in the cold water position and note the water pressure. If the water pressure is low the mixer may need to be replaced.

The only other explanation would be decreased cold water pressure even before it gets to the mixing valve. This could be caused by a shut off valve being partially closed between the shower and main water line. You can trace the water pipe from the shower to main water line and check the shut off valves along the way.

It is more common to have bad pressue on the hot side but anything is possible. I'd shut off the main and pull the cartridge, not difficult and we can help if you aren't sure how to do this. 9 out of 10 times cleaning the ports is all that's needed, once in a while news seal and rarely if ever replace.
