    New chevy vortec 5.7 350
    I have around 800 miles on my new vortec 350 motor so when I go to power brake and smoke the tires I here the lifters knock or a gas ping noise what could cause this.

    You are causing this! Having your foot on both the gas and brake is confusing the powertrain management computer.
    Should something fail, the computer has the capability to record switch inputs, i.e.: throttle angle and brake apply switch, so when the dealer service department looks into what happened, they will see how the failure was caused. You may have a difficult time getting help in the future.

    the truck is a 1990 with TBI and auto trans does it even have a powertrain management computer and my new 2006 chevy has no prolblem burning off the tires how are you going to get your tires warm when drag racing if can't power brake thanks
