Never, ever, never, never go behind her back. You will lose what trust she has in you and it will take what seems like a lifetime to build it back up.

If you are underage, you simply ask her... if she says no, then you wait until you are old enough to do it without her permission.

Yeah, going behind her back is a very bad idea. Do some research and maybe you'll be able to convince her that its safe enough to change her mind. If not, waiting is not that big of a deal.

    1. Look at what career you want to do when you grow up, and see how many people working in that field have a tongue pin.

    2. if you do it behind her back, ( which means it was done illegal) you mom can just force you not to use it, and you would have wasted all the pain and infection

    3. I can think of no good reason to use to convince her

Hun, I know what you are going through. You want something, and you want to figure out how to get your parents to let you have it. I went through the same thing with my mom.

If she won't let you have it, let the issue be. My mom wouldn't let me have it, so I found someone that would do it for me. Granted, I was 2 days away from my 18th birthday, but it was still illegal, and a mistake. My mother ripped me a new "you know what", and then she wouldn't speak to me for a long time. It was sad, because I still lived at home.

Don't go behind your mom's back. It will be one of the biggest mistakes you will ever make. If you do, she will never let you do or have anything for a long time, if ever. If she can't trust you not to get a piercing behind her back, how can she trust you to date, hang out with friends, etc? She won't be able to.

I see a lot of success in giving something to get something. Give her good grades, she might give you your piercing. Give her all of your chores done perfectly and consistently, she might give you your piercing. If this doesn't work, don't push the issue and just wait until you are old enough.

Piercings are meant for adults, that's why you have to be 18 to get them. I'm assuming you are young, so you still have all your life to worry about adult things. Be a kid. When you turn 18, you can get as many piercings as you want, but for now, just enjoy knowing the fact that your mom is able to trust you. :)
