How do I put my 18 yr son out
I have an 18 year old son who is disrespectful. Only thinks of himself, believes what I have or do he should always come first. Doesn't want to work or finish school. I need legal help in putting my son out of my house today. Anyone providing help, insight, legal council, law inforcement, to get him out of my house, is greatly appreciated. The only way I see at this point is to call the police to have him forced out.

The police won't remove him unless he has hit you or shown any kind of violence.
He did not get that way overnight and you just can't get rid of him overnight either. Why did he quit school? Why can't or won't he get a job? How long has he been disrespectful? Does he have another parent who can take him off your hands for awhile so you can sort this situation out? Is he into drugs at all that you know about? How about alcohol?

He's 18? That's a legal adult. If he won't move out, you could always pack his stuff up, leave it on the porch for him, and change the locks. Its harsh but still an option I you really want him out that badly. It's your house, not his. You get to say who lives there. In my family when we get too far out of line we're given a box of trashbags and told pack our things and get out. Usually the trashbags shuts us up and we stop being disresepctful, get our acts together and get to keep living at home. Only one of us was ever actually kicked out and they got to come back when they apologized the next day. So maybe your son just needs a good scare.

Not legal in many states. He may very well be a legal resident, in which case many State Landlord Tenant laws protect him.

I will agree with packing him up and putting him out. Since he has no written lease or even a verbal agreement he is not a tenant, and fall between the cracks of most laws.

And in most cases if he can sue you, he can sue you for the amount of the rent he was paying?? For a few months rent, and cost of moving his goods , NONE. Since he did not own anything hisself normally.

You can give him an official notice to move out, and then start eviction actions, ( if the housing court will hear the case, since he is not really a renter)
