Puppy won't eat after injury
My puppy fell and suffered a loss of consciousness on Sunday. We took her to the Emergency room and after a nights stay in the puppy hospital and a trip to a vet Neurologist she came home Monday... she appears to be gaining her faculties but really is not thriving and has not eaten any food since Sunday AM (4 days at this point).. She was only 5lbs to begin with and I am really getting frightened. The Vet gave her anti-nausea medicine on Tuesday but that has not helped yet...
The wired thing is she now seems repulsed by her food and backs away from it... Any advice? We love her dearly and want her back and healthy!! |

You need to call the vet & let him know about this. Not sure what is going on, but she needs to get some nutrition. It may require anything from changing her medicine to IV's & tube feeding her at the vet hospital. Head injuries can take a while to recover from; she may have to learn how to eat all over again. At this point she definitely needs a reevaluation & some professional nursing care to help her past this problem.
