I think I might be getting sick
    Do I have the flu?

    Symptoms:

*Body aches (arms, lower abdomen and legs)
*Stuffy head and sometimes a minor headache
*Slight sore throat feeling (seems to be more severe at night)
*Last night, I would wake up sweating and then maybe an hour later I would wake up shivering

Darlin, take some extra Vitamin-C, heat up some chicken soup, put on your woolies, and rest - it will probably be gone in a day or two.

If you feel like you need something more, go to a walk-in clinic and get some anti-biotics.

    Get Well! :)

AWWW thank you! I wish I could just go home and do what you suggested. Unfortunetly I can't because I work 8:30-5:30 everyday, 5 days a week. I hope it's gone soon or else I'll have an awful rest of the week! :(

    What has vitamin-C in it?

Orange juice is a great quick vitamin C fix... actually, any citrus fruit (orange, strawberry, pineapple, etc)

If you're at work, you probably can't go out and buy C tablets, can you?

On your way home tonight, stop at WalMart or a drugstore and get some vitamin C tablets or those cough droppy things... they'll help.

As SOON as you get home get to bed! :)

Thank you for your' advice! I will deffinintly get to bed as soon as I get home!

I still think I have the flu though. I looked up all the symptoms and I'm having every single one! :(

That's OK - it will be gone soon. The more rest you get, the better.

Consider going to a walk-in clinic near you... you'll get a tongue depressor stuck in your mouth, a thermometer stuck in your ear, and a delightful prescription for antibiotics!

Or, just take care of yourself, dress in layers so you can keep warm and take off if you're hot, sleep as much as you can, and inhale the vitamin C.

    :)

Sounds very much like you have the flu. I am just getting over it myself. Get lots of sleep if you can, it does help you heal faster. NyQuil is great. Vitamin C... well, it helps to ward off the flu, not to necessarily get rid of it, but you should take it this time of year anyway.

Good luck to you, I hope you feel better soon.

Oh, and antibiotics won't help if it is a virus, the flu is a virus. Antibiotics are only good for an infection other than a viral infection. They work on bacterial infections primarily.

Urgh... well, there goes my advice, out the window! LOL!

I know sleep helps, right? And, chicken soup?

And, I know going to a walk-in clinic will help... and it always involves tongue depressors and pokey thermometer thingies...

Sorry, brunette! :) J_9 - I'm sticking to relationship questions... I seem to have better luck with them! ;) Thanks though... I didn't know about the C and the antibiotics.

That's what I did. MyQuil at night, and DayQuil during the day. I'm just getting over it and it's been over a week.

EEEKKK! I hope it's not that long for me. I work 5 days a week and can't afford to take a day off to rest up but I guess I just might have to :)

You need a combo vitamin/mineral pill that has Vitamin C, Zinc, and a few others. Get an Antioxidant Formula that contains about 7 different vitamins and minerals. I take this when I have the flu and it makes everything go away much quicker. I get the el cheapo version at Wally World and that does me just fine. I take several pills a day when I'm sick. You may want to take one a day after you kick the flu to keep from getting another case of it. Also helps keep the cold bug at bay.
