Why am I struggling to fall pregnant
Hi everyone I have a bit of a long question,in 2006 November I had a miscarriage then I went on the injection for three months after which I went over to the pill, we then decided to try for a family but my period was very irregular the doctor then suggested I go on the pill for three months to regulate my period which I did & my period was regular after I stopped the pill, we are know actively trying for a baby & having sex around the time I ovulate but still no baby in January my period came 2 days early which was strange because I have a 28 day cycle. Can someone please maybe just help me understand why it's so difficult to fall pregnant. I'm a healthy 26yr old

Your body has been through a lot on the last year, so its quite possible that your body could just be trying to get back to normal. Hormones are a hard thing to regulate once they get out of wack. Having a miscarriage throws your system out of wack many times. The depo shot could take up to 18 months to get out of your system (no matter how long or short you are on it) The pill takes an average of 3 months to get out of your system. Getting on and off different forms of birth control also throws your body out of wack. And its not uncommon to have an irregular schedule now and then. Just give it time. It takes most healthy couples up to 12 months to conceive naturally, before they should begin seeking medical help. So with all the issues you've had in the last your, your poor body is probably still just trying to recover. Just relax, and take it one day/month at a time.and if you have any questions/concerns, don't hesitate to contact your doctor, they are there to help. Good luck to you

Just backing up what buggage said ;)

It can take most healthy couples up to a year to conceive. The mere stress of trying to fall pregnant can prevent it. There are so many factors that have to be just right in order to get pregnant... one little thing can throw it all off.

I assume you are tracking your cycle since you said you have having sex when you ovulate... so that's good. Unfortunately there is not much more you can do right now. Most doctors want you to try naturally for a year before they step in to run tests and/or help.

Just make sure you start taking prenatal vitamins if you're not already, and just try to relax and have fun with it.

I know where you are coming from. I got pregnant with my daughter while I was on birth control, now that my husband and I are actually trying to have a baby we can't seem to get pregnant. We have been trying for almost a year and a half and just recently I was put on hormones to try and help... but as of yet, those aren't working either. It can be tough, but hang in there :)

Do you have insurance? Some will cover fertility treatment. If not, inquire with your doctor what some of the initial testing might cost, put some money aside a bit at a time and have a test at a time. Have you been with the same partner? It could be that he needs to be tested.

Have you tried different ways to determine when you would most likely be ovulating? Have you been in a steady relationship the entire time so that frequent intercourse has been possible? Any job constraints that would prevent you from being together on a regular basis?

    Many questions, I know... :)
