    Filing married
My husband and I have filed single returns for years, he filed his with one address and I filed minds with another address but have also been married for years and living together. We are now thinking about filing married and joint return using the same address. Is this wise? Or should we keep filing the way we have for over 20 years?

My w'2s have my old address on it... cpa never changed it. My husbands has our current address on it. The tax preparer has never said anything about the difference. It has been like this for 4 -5 years. I don't think it will make a difference or at least it hasn't for us.

It makes no difference to the IRS. You have been providing each other's SSNs on the MFS returns for the past years, so the IRS knows you are married.

They will change whichever file it affects to the current address.
