    Can I use a ceiling fan without the remote control.
    Can I use a ceiling fan without the remote control.., I moved into a house and the ceiling fan does not turn on by the switch... The past owner says the remote SHOULD be around somewhere... I can't find the remote what should I try...

    If it has pullchains you might, you would have to remove cover at ceiling an see if it has black and white in, and black, white, and blue to light and fan.
    With power off, remove cover, disconnect wireless receiver, and hook up old feed to receiver to light and fan wires. Both will work together.
    Yo may get lucky and have spare wire for seperat use of light and fan.
