    Greenhouse emissions credits
How can anyone believe what we are hearing from Al Gore et al about controlling greenhouse emissions via "credits" and taxes? Apparently, a business creating excess pollutants could purchase "credits" from some business that is not polluting their fair share. That only moves the pollution around. Oh, I forgot! It would really line some people's pockets in the process. I wonder who?

The Goracle has already proven he can enrich himself nicely with the cap and trade scheme. WorldNetDaily: Gore's 'carbon offsets' paid to firm he owns

Tom, so that's what Bill Clinton meant by the world's fight against global warming is "good economics." Makes sense now.

Sounds counterfeit to me. Or fraudulent, like snake oil, but he is the candidate that promised tax cuts in 1992.

I've always thought the "carbon credits" idea was stupid - you can pollute as much as you want as long as you can pay for it out of your pocket? Huh??

Remember the Live Earth concert they did this past summer? They promoted it as "Carbon Neutral" despite the thousands of people who drove or flew to the shows, the mass amounts of electricity used, the trash from food, water bottles, the pollution created by printing flyers, and t-shirts, and transporting the artists... Carbon Neutral my foot!

In Live Earth's own assessment (pdf) under "How'd we do" the best they could come up with is "we fulfilled our underlying purpose: we set a good example." Supposedly they averaged about 300 tons of emissions due to the events themselves - which amounts to about what Mammoth Mountain puts out each day - plus an additional 900-4500 tons for the artists and the audience. But hey, at least NBC turned the lights off in the studio for a game broadcast to offset it. :D
