I have a small dog also, but it isn't a puppy. I would scold it every time it does that, and bring it out more often so it knows where to go. It's better to train when they are still puppies.

Try spending a lot of time outside so puppy HAS to go outside or else. Apparently she knows the game and has you well trained. Try looking at the sticky note at the top of the section about house training dogs.

I just got a Sih-tzu and believe me they are so harder to train. I've had my puppy for about 2 months now and he's getting there. I take him out every half hour and when he does go I praise him or give him a treat.. I find he is getting better and better. There is also a training spray that you could spray where you want him to go. The new smell will attract your pup to go where you want but I don't know if it would work spraying it outside? You should look into it.

You have to remember, everything is new to this puppy and she is trying to figure it all out. Try taking her out after playing and after eating. Once she goes outside, take her to the same place each time. When she does go, praise her lavishly! Also, if she has free reign in the home, keep doors closed so that you can watch her more closely. House training is a pain, but she will eventually catch on. Just give her plenty of patience and love, which I am sure you do! :)
