I want to be ILL!
There is something wrong with my wiring.
I can't stand being healthy.
I want to be diagnosed with an illness of some sort! Tb and add are the ones I want most of all.
And then there's pcos (dont want it but I think I have it)
And I think my mind's making me feel pain a lot. I get sore legs and bottom (dont laugh, it's a royal pain!) and in my arms, back and stomach, because I've had these pains in the past, if I tell my mam I think something is wrong, she won't believe me!
Also, I have the desire to receive bodily harm, being shot is the most common thought I have, sometimes I even think about how the investigation of my own murder would happen! I don't want to die!
And now I'm starting to think that the only thing wrong with me, is wanting to have something wrong!
Is there a name for this? It's not hypochondiac (sp?) (although I'm that too)
A few of my friends have mental disorders (bi polar, depression, autism) and they tell me its nothing I want, but it's upsetting knowing I don't have an illness...
Does anyone else ever feel like this? Or am I alone?
:(
(I've noted I like attention. But this is like subconscious. I can't stop the NEED to have something bad happen to me!)

I am thinking that since your mom doesn't take your pains seriously enough that you want something wrong with you to the point that she can't deny anything is wrong with you.
It is called attention seeking--even though your wanting attention could be very much within reason. Try finding more positive ways to get attention.
I also think that if you feel --sore legs and bottom (dont laugh, it's a royal pain!)-- is a pain then once you WOULD have something seriously wrong you would hate it even more than the sore legs and bottom.
Trust me by the time you are my age you won't want ANY aches, pains or diseases.
So be thankful for your health now.

You are watching too much television where everyone has something wrong with them and the commercials add to this by telling people they have to take this or that pill to help their illness. You are obviously a teenager just craving attention. You are normal. It is normal to wonder why there is nothing wrong with yourself. You are a bit of a hypochondriac through and I'm sure when you get a cold or the flu you are secretly happy that you finally have something wrong with you so that people can fuss over you. Relax, you'll get over this stage and go onto something really exciting like dating.

If stupidity were an illness, you'd be sick!
Perhaps I should rephrase that to say that imagination when used wrong can become stupidity.
Actually wishing for those things to happen to you shows that they are something you obviously have never experienced. Some girls just want a baby, but you want TB... and probably AIDS??
My suggestion for you would be to begin doing some creative writing or drama lessons in which you can explore all of this imaginary stuff that will seem to add some excitement to your life.

Hi there Princess
Physical pain, illness or disease can be more visible to others than emotional pain. I'm wondering if you may be hurting inside (i.e. emotionally) but are unsure how to get others to respond to or understand that pain? Perhaps you believe that having a physical illness would better enable you to reach out to others?
So... consider if what is underlying your 'desire' to be ill is the want to be cared for and understood for your own special uniqueness. This want is understandable and common - in my opinion, all humans want to be understood and accepted, even when at their worst. Perhaps you mistakenly think that being ill is the way to fulfil this need of yours?
Finally, remind yourself that you do not need to be ill to warrant attention. You are worthy of care and concern, and are special just for being you, all of the time. Celebrate your health and realise that being well will enable you to have many more experiences and achieve personal goals with a lot more ease, than if you were ill.
Kind regards
Dale

I went through something similar to this as my mum is one of those " walk it of" sort of parents, but you need to realise how lucky you are to bewell and you probably haveso many good qualities to get someone's attention with rather than being ill
