    Not Sure What To Do
[F]Hello! I'm not sure what I should do about this boy. Last year all my friends kept telling me how strange he was and how annoying he was, but I didn't actually know him myself. This year he's in one of my classes, and he's totally awesome. He is very funny, but not in an obnoxious way. He also seems to be rather intelligent. I also must admit that he IS quite cute, too.
At first, I wasn't really sure what to think about him. I didn't know if I "liked" him or just wanted to be his friend. Now that I've thought about it and wondered about it for months, I realize that I do "like" him AND want to be his friend. I figured that trying to talk to him and get to know him better would be a good idea, because many people have told me that a good first step to getting someone to like you is being their friend first.
I wish I could make myself talk to him, but I am a VERY shy person. Plus, he's only in one of my classes during the day, and I don't see him very much during passing time.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about how to muster up the confidence to talk to him (he has no problem talking to me), as well as any suggestions on how to become friends. :o
Granted, I am only 13 years old, so it's probably just a crush.
    Thank you!

At 13 a crush is a real as any feelings and often more at that age. But in the end if you can't get the confidence to talk to him or others, you are going to miss out on a lot of life. Often we have to go past the place we feel good about and talk to others.

I agree with the above post, age doesn't regulate the discomfort we feel when meeting new people. I suggest next time he is in your class do the girly thing, bump into him, smile your very best smile and say, oops sorry.

Smile. The typical teeny-smile always do wonders. :)

Since you two seem to be getting along pretty well, try checking what his interests are and see if you can be part of it. Say, art club, drama club or bikes... I don't know. Ask him if he can help you out with joining it. This is very casual and harmless. :)

But don't try to be part of his interests that you don't know of... it will back fire and you'll end up making a fool of yourself. Good luck!
