    What is kms?
    Hi,
I have a coupe recipes which tell me to add 1/2 tblsp of k.m.s

Trouble is I have no idea what this stands for. A Google search doesn't help.

The only thing I found that was a recipe for mango squash that asked for K.M.S. as an ingredient. So this could be a Goan or Indian spice. The closest I could find, and I do not guarantee that this is what you are looking for is the spice called: Kasoori methi, which are dried fenugreek leaves (Trigonella Foenum Graecum) . They are used in Indian cooking and taste similar to a combination of celery and fennel with a slightly bitter bite. Typically the leaves are crumbled and sprinkled over meat and vegetable curries before serving.

See: List of Indian spices - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Here's my guess: Potassium Metabisulphate
    Goacom.com - Jerry's Recipe Corner
Excellent Vegetarian Recipes: Mango Squash (Cool drink)

    Also could be: Potassium metabisulfite

We have an abundance of Starfruit (carambola) and need to do something with them. I found several recipes for this fruit. For example: Starfruit Marmalade has as step 10:
Stir well, take off fire, add k.m.s dissolved in 1 tsp water.

    Other recipes say something similar.

Thanks for all the replies but it's kind of difficult to guess as to ingredients of a recipe and come out with the author's original product. Being that I've seen it in several places 'somebody' out there must know what it really is. I'll keep looking for now.
