    1098-T from school
Recentely I received a 1098-T W2 from my school and quit honestly, I don't know what to do with it. I purchased TurboTax Deluxe (federal and state) so if anyone knows where to enter it into TurboTax that would be great.

I assume you are either a U.S. citizen or a resident alien.

If so, Form 1098-T is the proof that you paid tuition to the school. You use it to claim either one of the tuiton credits or the tuition deduction on your tax return. The IRS gets a copy and uses it to validate your claim for a credit or a deduction.

If you have no earned income or, for some reason, cannot file a federal tax return, then the Form 1098-T is worthless to you.

Also, if you are a non-resident alien, it is equally worthless to you, as you CANNOT claim either the tuition credit or deduction if you file as a non-resident alient.
