    Black Cherry Hair Color Disaster!
Ok, Nothing wrong with looking like I should be in a punk rock band (if that was what I was looking for!)...

I wanted dark auburn and came out with "CHERRY" colored highlights on my dark (very dark) brown hair... I've had dark auburn before but never by this person who did it.

Washed twice yesterday w/my husb's deep cleaning shampoo, suds coming off were pink. Shampoo'd twice this morning---suds less pink.

Would like to do something to bring down the strawberry/cherry/crayon/kool-aid colored highlights... :(

The person who did my hair said the only thing I can do is to strip and start over, not interested in doing that.

Will the cherry get better over time? Or is it a "what you see is what you get" at this point?

All artificial hair color will fade over time,
But for quicker results, I would suggest you use a different hair dye, more of a true auburn color.
Maybe even a red-brown (which would probably be much better).
If you are unsure about that,
Than give it a few more washes and see what happens.

I had my hair dresser lighten it up, she pulled it through a cap and put "stuff" that takes the color out. It is now red (but more naturally so)... next time I think I'll go for a reddish brown instead of so RED RED.

My first time here. I tried to do a search, but sadly (happily?) no one was dumb enough to do what I have done :o OK. I have dark brown hair, almost no highlights, no gray. My daughter begged me to put highlights in it 8? Months ago. I did, and I let her (she's 11) help me with the back. I...
