    More than irregular periods!
Here's the story! I started my period when I was in 3rd grade. Early, I know! My period had always been off... I would only have one every 3 or 4 months. I got on birth control [[Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo]] at the beginning of 2005, and it has been regular ever since [[3 years]]. Well, I quit taking them for about 3 months, and didn't have a period until last month, and it lasted for 2 whole weeks!! This has never happened to me! Well, this month it came on the exact day it was supposed to, but I'm going on 2 weeks AGAIN! Thursday will be 2 weeks! This time it has been BROWN the entire time. I know it's normal for it to be brown at the end, but the whole time? What is wrong with me? I'm worrying! I made an appointment with the gyno for Tuesday, but if I'm still on my period, I won't be able to be seen! Uggh! I figured it would go back to normal once I started taking my pills again, but so far, it's just the same! HELP PLEASE!!

Wait, they won't see you if you're on your period? That doesn't make any sense. Maybe you need to be a little more forceful and insist that you're doctor at least talk with you (you know, do their job... ). Even if there's nothing medically wrong with you I can understand your fristration and your dr should be willing to help you.

Well, I've never tried to go while on my period, but I had 2 different friends who said they won't see you if you are on! Which is so ridiculous! How am I supposed to get my problem solved if they won't see me? I'm calling in the morning to make sure that I can still come, and I'm going to explain my situation to them a little more thoroughly, so maybe they will let me still come... I mean, who knows when this thing ends? I could be putting off an important appointment for awhile!

Anyone else have any clue as to what's wrong with me? I'm seriously freaking out!

Yeah. That doesn't make any sense why they wouldn't see you if you're on your period. Even when they scheduled me for an exam they just said don't use tampons for 24 hours. I wouldn't freak out about it. Just go to your appointment as planned and tell your doctor that you HAVE to speak with them. I'll be shocked if your doctor actually refuses to see you.

    Hi,

When you are on your period, your pap will come out abnormal, due to the hormonal changes. I had the same problem. I once tried a shot for birth control and I had a period of 2 weeks, then again two more. It is normal, but annoying. Naturally your body responds to the changes. For how long will you be on the pill?

Well, I went to the appointment as planned, but they didn't do the exam... They said the same thing. That it would come out abnormal... But I did get a chance to talk to them about my problems, and they said that they are 100% sure that my problem is because I quit taking the pills and started up again... They said it's just like me starting them in the first place. But I don't ever remember having a period for this long. They said it takes about 2 or 3 months to get back regular... I'm NEVER stopping my pills again! This has been driving me crazy! And even more than being worried, it's just so damn inconvenient and annoying to have your period for this long! I'm ready for it to just go away! But I'm glad this is what's wrong and nothing worse... I go back for my pap smear in March, so hopefully it gets better before then... And hopefully this is the real problem! Thanks everyone!
