    To Whom It May Concern,

I am twenty years old and have been trying to get pregnant for a year now. I have went online and researched as much as I could about ovulation, eating healthy, best sexual positions and yet I was almost worried that something was wrong with me or my husband. After all, we both smoke cigarrettes and I know that's really bad. But can that have an effect with concieving? If I would get pregnant, I would try my hardest to quit. No doubt about that. My mom was pregnant almost instantly with all three children, as was others in my family... so that makes me fearful. They all smoked longer than me, as well. I am young, so I'm worried about visiting a doctor to ask to be looked at or for help, but I am almost ready to say.. " it" and go in. I just don't want to be judged because of my age. I know I'm ready to have a child, emotionally and financially. Even saying anything on here was frightening. Anyway, if anyone has a comment toward this post, please feel free. I could really use some advice..

I have irregular periods and miss them frequently. Lol. Can you imagine how many pregnancy tests I've bought? Well, it only started happening this way once I stayed away from the condom. Do you think I'm messing natural things up?

If you have a history of irregular and/or missed periods then you probably will experience difficulty in conceiving. I don't know just how much smoking affects fertility ; probably more so on your end of it than his, if at all. You may want to see your physician and try to get a referral to a fertility specialist. They can test you and your husband to see if one or both of you is infertile and give you guidance and counseling.
