    Hair coloring that doesn't stay
Well ever since my highlight screw-up my freshman year I have been dying my hair ever since, trying to find the right color. However, I do swim so I know that will take the color out but every single time I dye my hair it turns a brassy red blonde after about a week... and my natural color is a dark blonde/light brown... it doesn't matter what color though... it always turns that same color! I have gone to professionals but they just make it worse... my swim season ends soon and after I'm going to hopefully dye it one more time I just was wondering if anyone had some advice on how to keep the color in

Have you tried any of the color protectant shampoo/conditioner. They don't make a major difference, but I've noticed them help a little. In between dye jobs, I like to use that new (well, kind of new still I guess) foam dye. Its from clairol. It doesn't have as many harsh chemicals as the other dyes. And it doesn't stay in very long either. But it works well enough to cover my roots so that I don't have to really dye it as often. It might work for you too.
