    Confused pregnant or not?
Funny thing not certain if I am pregnant

As an L.P.N who have two children I still can't figure out if I am pregnant or not. I took a HPT, and got Different results, Positive/negative, different brands, but used FMU Two of the test with a 25mlU sensibility and the others with claims of 25mlU sensitivity but I doubt it, I used FMU as I know it contains the most HCG I would say I am about 14 DPO just guessing. I could get a blood test although as I stated time is limited here. I know it's best to wait a week after expected Menses, but the anxiety is killing me. I scheduled Dr. Appt In the meantime, It leaves me Uncertain. I definitely have pregnancy symptoms, that I never had before. Why can't I wait well because Hubby will be in town this weekend and if so I need to tell him before he leaves for another month. He is currently in the military and our communication is limited.. So out of the four test, I got 2 positives with very faint lines. And two negative's. The dollar store HPT New choice & U-check) gave me the positive results, as the First Response, and the Rite-Aid brand gave me a negative result, I am aware that every few days your HCG levels double. But I am just so anxious... Do you think because I got the positive results, it is okay to say that I am pregnant, and that perhaps the other two test was not as sensitive, I called the manufacturers of both other tests who claimed that they also have a sensibility of 25mlu... Any advice?

BTW, my other two children are older and I had them fairly young, so I don't even remember how I felt when I was pregnant at that time, I was young and ignored my body.

If you got a positive, most likely you are pregnant. Very rarely does a false negative occur, and usually only with an outdated test or certain medical conditions.

Just to be sure... are you taking the tests using first morning urine? This is very important as this is when the level of hCG is at the highest concentration.

I think J9 meant " very rarely does a false positive occur...." its more common to get a false negative, then a false positive._

Oops, thanks for correcting me. That's what I get for studying and answering at the same time. :o

Yes, I meant that rarely does a false positive occur. Looks like you may very well be pregnant.
