    Statue of limitations on foreclosure?
    [F]Several years ago I was in an extremely bad financial situation after my husband left me with 6 kids at home. The mortgage company foreclosed on my house trailer and sold it for what they could get for it. They have never corresponded with me since that time and now they have called my parents and sister (?) How they got their numbers, I don't know, but my question is... how long have they got to sue me for this balance?[/B]

    Hello e:

    It depends on LOTS of different things, like the state you live in for example.

    However, they aren't allowed to contact your parents and sister. Google the "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act". It will tell you what they can and cannot do. Armed with the law, you may be able to stop 'em in their tracks.
