My landlords will be my roommates
I am going to rent a room in a house owned by two siblings . They also lived there so they will be my rommmates. I think I have the right to ask them permission to run a background check on them .They seems very nice and clean but I do not know anything about them. A criminal background check will give me some peace of mind.
Do I have the right to do so?.

    Thanks
    Olga

You have the right to ask. They have the right to refuse. This could keep you from getting the room... but if you are OK with that, then you lose nothing by asking.

You can of course ask, you have no right to one, so they may refuse. They may also refuse to rent to you, if they are offended by your asking.

Did they ask to run a background on you? Living with roomies that you don't know works both ways.

    Hello olga:

You don't need their permission. It's a free market.

You can go to the county court offices and they will show you how to run a name. SS# will help.
