    No confusion for my young son
    Hello, well my son is going through a divorce he lives in indinia, his wife is living with her boyfriend and they are engadged he is all so going through a divorce. Any way she is telling my son that he is his new daddy. And when showing him a picture of this man he says daddy, he is only 2 1/2 years old. I do not like this at all. I`am he only daddy. My divorce and custody will be settled the end of feb. I`am going for full custody. What else can help my son. Thanks veronica

    I'm confused... are you talking about your son or your grandson? Your post isn't really clear on the details.

    Just reassure the child that you are going to remain in his life. You'll have an uphill battle trying to convince the ex not to refer to a second daddy.

    I feel bad for you. The mother is in the wrong in my opinion by creating confusion for the child.

    If the child learns to call the new guy daddy as well... don't take it out on the child. Names and titles don't mean much at such a young age. The mother might be doing it to cause you grief. Children are very adaptable at such a young age, and perhaps it will just be easier for the child to know what role the guy has in his life... Don't think of it as a replacement for yourself. Children are not fooled that easily. Let your love and feelings show to your child.

    As time goes on, the child will be able to communicate better, and will then be able to have conversations at their level of understanding. Don't make the child feel bad for something that the mom has taught him.
