    Roommate/friend bailed on me
I lent a friend $1100 back in July 2007. We had a verbal agreement that she would pay me with her child support she receives for her daughter. The money was to cover her part in the deposit and rent for the apartment we both signed on. In December 2007 she was approved for low income housing and moved out. We signed a year lease I was able to replace her although her name is still on the lease and she has no belongings in my home. I don't know what to do she still owes me 900$ and is refusing to give me the keys that belong to my house.
Do I have any chance as far as getting my money from her... that was student loan money that I have to pay back with interest... and what about my keys for my house... my mail box, garage, and house key...
I don't know what to do so I'm hoping someone can help me out...
If so thank you if not ummm okay... thanks anyway

I would say Small Claims Court but in the meantime if you want to keep her out you will have to change the locks and also sue for those charges in Small Claims Court.

Like any other verbal agreement it's your word against hers but I can't believe a Court would think you gave her the money as a gift -

Isn't it amazing what a friend you trust can do to you?
