    Snow blower won't move
I have an MTD snow blower. When I engage the drive handle, the machine feels like it binds a little and won't move. I pulled off the bottom gear housing and I notice when tension is applied on the cable, the friction wheel(with rubber gasket) makes contact with the spinning disk but then the contact slows and stops the disk from spinning.
Any ideas on what's up. Thanks

Is there an adjustment on the cable? Have you tried lubricating the cable? I am just trying to help you as I do not work on snowblowers, we don't have a need for them in my area.

I actually got it figured out and moving. I removed a top cover that houses the three belts. One of the belt, the one closest to the motor, has a pulley with a large spring attatched to a flange. The spring appeared rusted and stuck. I sprayed allot of WD-40 on it and freed it up. This allowed the spinning plate to have enough power to drive the snow blower.
