Can I replace a Vanity with a shower?
In my master bathroom, I have a whirlpool tub, and 2 vanities but no shower,
Would it be easier to add a shower to the whirlpool tub or to take out a vanity
And put in a free standing shower?

My house is on a slab if that helps.

The whirlpool is tiled in, so you have to really step over into it, so I would prefer
A free standing shower next to it.

I think I could run the drain into the whirlpool drain if I put the free standing
Shower since it is right next to it.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Deb

This is major surgery no matter which way you go. If you reemoved the vanity you would have to jackhammer up the slab to provide drainage and if you removed the whirlpool you would be able to install a 30" by 60" shower base to cover the space but would have to custom tile the shower enclosure.
If you wished to install a manufactured shower base and enclosure you would have to move the trap over to where it could pick up,the shower. Either way you decide it will be a lot of work and mess. Good luck in whatever you decide. Tom

Both are easy enough to do, but adding a shower over your current tub would probably be the easiest thing. Steam Shower | Steam Cabin | Sauna Rooms by Di Vapor UK. They're just time consuming and take some patience.
