The Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor converts a pressure differential to a voltage signal which is then sent to the ECU as an input. At idle with a manifold pressure of 500 mmHg (20 in.Hg) the sensor output is approx. 1.0 - 1.25 volts, at wide open throttle manifold pressure of 0 mmHg (0 in.Hg) the output is approx. 2.75 - 3.0 volts. If your DVOM has a min/max setting, use that because finite readings are difficult to duplicate. If you find it is out of range, or if it has become contaminated (i.e.: water etc) simply replace it. Are you having any drivability symptoms or any diagnostic codes stored (Check Engine light on)?

Measure from White to Green/White. Yel/Red is reference and should remain static.

Without the engine running, you'll need a hand-held vacuum pump to check the functionality of the sensor. You can however make certain the sensor is getting the necessary reference voltage. Check that and tell us what you get.

You don't say if the ignition system is generating spark.. Do you know if the engine is getting fuel?
