Hello everyone


I went to the er last week because I should be ten weeks pregnant according to my last period and after sex I started bleeding a good amount. It turned out to just be an after sex bleed so it was nothing to worry about. However, when they did the sonograms and transvaginal sonograms they found that I am only around 6 weeks when my hormone levels match up to ten weeks and so does my period. I ended up going to see my midwife yesterday and she told me it is most likely a miscarriage and that they didn't see a fetal pole, so no embryo had started to grow. She kind of told me that she would bet that this is not a good pregnancy and that it most likely is what they told me in the er, that I am going to miscarry or have to take the pill or have a d and c. the midwife ordered me to take a blood test tomorrow to see if my hormones drop or go up and then I guess if they go up id have another ultrasound. Has anyone been through anything like this? Since I've been told that this is probably a miscarriage ( and its my first pregnancy) I am extremely depressed and upset. I'm assuming the worst for now, because I just can't take the false hope. I just wanted to know if they could possibly be wrong and if anyone has experienced this or something similar. Thanks!

Always get a second, and maybe even a third opinion. My aunt was once told that she had lost the baby so they told her to take that pill to flush it out. When she went back for her check up they realized she hadn't lost the baby, she was still carrying it. But because she had taken that pill there was basically a garuntee that the baby would be born with mental retardation and possibly other problems. My aunt ended up choosing to have an abortion because she wasn't sure she could handle that kind of responsibility.

The same thing happened to me, I was bleeding after sex. And went to the hospital. And they told me it was just after sex bleeding. And I was 12 weeks then. I had saw the doctor 2 days before that, and had gotton a blood test done. So that day they gave me a blood test, and said my hormone levels had dropped too, which scared me. But I talked to a couple OBGYN's and they told me that it isn't uncommon for your hormone levels to drop sometimes. So see what they say tomorrow at your doctors appointment, and then order that they scedual you an ultra sound.
