I met a girl when I was out with a few friends. My friend took right to her sister, then as she would keep coming around her and I started to hit it off. Went well for a little while, we were doing great I thought, she just seemed to be the perfect person for me. And I was the same for her from what everyone had told me.

Well, one morning, I woke up with her before she left for work. Everything seemed fine. But, she didn't come home that day. My roommate called her sister to try and see if maybe she had to go home for any reason, they hadn't heard from her. I was worried so I didn't see what was coming next. They found out that her ex was looking for her the night before, and apparently went and got her.

So now she's back with him. And it wouldn't bother me so bad, but he is abusive. Just not an all around good person. I decided to drink at a friend wedding reception and had a little too much. Ended up calling the phone of her now boyfriend and had words with him. She called back afterwards and to my surprise denied everything we had. And it really hurt to hear her say there was nothing ever between us, that we were just friends. Well funny how life works, not long after that I run into her at the store, and she smiles and talks to me like it never happened.

I could go on, but Id rather not. My question is, what do I do? I loved and still do love this girl. And knowing the history between her and the guy she is with now, it's more than likely going to end. But do I do what my heart is telling me to do, which is wait and she'll see what she's missing after the abuse kicks up? Or with my head, which says that she may just never be comfortable out of that situation, and even if she does come back it will go the same way, and would I be able to ever trust her again? Well, thanks for reading, and I appreciate any advice you have.

You love her. Yes. But she's an adult (I think). She makes her own choices, she lives with her own decisions. The problem is that there're nice guys like you (and me... I think) who will go the distance for that girl... to make sure she's safe and happy. Then there are those a$$holes in the world that don't give a crap... and somehow, he gets the girl.

Eventually, she'll learn of her mistake (or she won't). Regardless, don't wait for her. Move on with your life. If she comes back, then assess the situation then. But as of right now, move on as if it's completely over. Don't look back. Don't ask yourself "what if she comes back"... just go forward. Go out with your friends, do your hobbies, etc.
