    My dog won't eat
Me and my husband just got a King Charles Spaniel (he's 15 weeks old) from a pet store and he will only eat if we feed him by hand and will only drink occasionally out of his bowl. We realize he is in a new environment, but we just hope this won't go on for a long time. We tried leaving him alone so he could eat on his own, but he wants to be with us all the time. What should we do?

Cfcpk, when a dog is rehomed, they don't understand what is going on, and will be confused and out of sorts. It is very normal for a new puppy to be off his food and water for at least the first few days in a new environment. As long as he is willing to eat and drink a little bit, that is a good sign. Please don't panic. Just give him a lot of attention and exercise. Exercise helps to create an apetite. Labman has some info on his sticky at the top of this forum for new dog owners. It includes housebreaking tips as well as food issues. Please read through the entire link. You may want to visit your local library and see if you can find any of the books on his recommended reading list to help you through these first stages of puppyhood. https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...tml#post251802
