Banging furnace/pipe noise
We live in a rental property on the second level. Over the last few days, we've been hearing a loud banging noise coming from the wall over where the furnace is located on the first level. It will bang for a minute or two and then stop. I contacted our property manager and he said he's already asked a professional plumber to take a look at it. The plumber said it was due to atmospheric pressure due to unusally high temperatures for winter in our area. Does this sound normal?

Does not sound normal to me. What would a plumber know about atmospheric pressures. Is he also the local weather man. LOL
I believe your situation needs to be addressed by a professional. The unit may not be burning correctly causing the noise. I would contact the property management again to state your case if they will not help call a local HVAC company and get there take on the situation. |

Bwhahahahahaha... sounds like the property manglement company has found a *doozy* of a plumber.
Take HVAC1000's advice. Let the property management company know that this is unacceptable, and request that they send out a *real* mechanic this time. Atmospheric pressure... >whew< That's a good one. |
