    Gas pilot light tube
I have a gas log fireplace with a Robertshaw millivolt 7000MV gas control valve. The gas leaks out of the bottom of the pilot light gas tube connector on the pilot light end. It is loose even when I tighten the compression nut.

Where can I buy just a replacement pilot light gas tube? Dealer wants $85 for a whole pilot lite kit

The one I have has a male fitting on the gas valve side and a female compression on the pilot lite end. Both ends have what appear to be metering inserts in each end.

    Thanks

It could be a special line for that unit. You can buy 1/4 inch aluminum tube and break away nuts that include the ferrel at most HVAC supply houses or a HVAC company might just sell you enough tube and a couple of nuts to do the job. Usually the pilot orifice can be changed between tubes if not then you probably have a special tube and will have to spend the big$$$.

Here is a trick you might try. The reason it is leaking is because the crush part of the ferrel has been crushed beyond usage.

Loosen and wrap a few turns of teflon tape around the damaged area. Then try and retighten. It does work but care needs to be taken with how much tape you use. It is trial and error. Make sure you test your fittings after the work is performed.
