    Noise in spark ignitor box
After replacing a gas valve in my carrier furnace with spark ignitor the service tech told me I was having pressure problems with the gas service line. He showed me that the pressure would drop down to 0 and then back up to to operating pressure. I had the gas company come out and they replaced the meter. Furnace heated up the house and appeared to run properly. I kept an eye on the funace and notice it was flaming up and trying to run but dropping back down. The ignitor was sparking. I had the gas company come back out and by accident we found a wire to be lose. So the problem was correct. Like before I am keeping an eye on the furnace and have noticed that the spark ignitor black box is making a humming noise. Is this normal, does it mean it is going to fail or my worst fear is that the new gas valve was incorrectly wired. What do you think? P.S. I want to take a moment to thank all the people that take their time to supply answers.

From here is is a guessing game. Many items in a furnace can hum and it is considered normal. If the new gas valve was improperly wired the furnace would not work.

If you did not trust the service man I would have had someone else fix the furnace. Stop worrying and let the unit run. If it goes out that is the way the cookie crumbles but nothing you can do now will prevent it from failure in the future.

Thanks, I feel better about the furnace already.
