    Bankruptcy/By Myself
    Do I have to pay the court any fees to file bankruptcy without an attoney in the State of New York, Suffolk County

    The court filing fee is 299 dollars to file.

    I would say don't do it without an attonrey, not under the new laws. Have you done the consumer counseling that you have to do before you are even allowed to file? If not, the filing will not even be accepted since proof of the counseling has to be provided. Also do you know that there is a second class you have to do after you file prior to discharge of the discharge will not be allowed.

    When the first lender challenges you, do you know how to answer them.

    I am not saying it can't be done, but with the new laws it is twice as hard as it was 3 years ago.

    I have done the paper work for people a few years ago, but would not even start to try and do the new filing by myself

    I am on Probation With the state of Virginia but live in New York, Long Island. I just recently received a new charge here in Long Island. My question is, does the time I owe the virginia probation dept. in VA stop when I get the new charge or does it contiue to run until my release from probation
