    Electric wireing illustrations
Where can I find illustrations showing how to wire properly?

I have a box with one 12/2 line. I want to wire a GFI outlet and a switch that controls a light. These are independent functions.

    Thanks

You can run a GFI with a switch and you can add a light. Where are you adding a switch and light to. (location)?

Thanks for the input. This box is in the bathroom. The box has two devices; a GFI outlet and a separate switch that controls the light.

I was told to attach two 12/2 pig tails to the line coming in and then wire each device with one pig tail each.

The box is not currently wired in this manner. However, the GFI shows as Open Hot and the light switch does not work.

    BTW, they used to work.

    Thanks

    Have you reset the GFI?

Yes, I've tried to reset the GFI's. Neither will reset. I've got 2 boxes and both are not operating.
