    1991 Honda No Start
I am working on a 1991 Honda Civic with a 1.6L. It does not start. The distibutor went out. I then replaced it. The car ran for three weeks. Then it died. Now there is no spark again. When I openned the distributor cap it looked like there was a lot of back feeding or something. The new cap and rotor were both heavily worn. There was also a lot of carbon build up and pitting in the pickup coil post. I replaced the cap and rotor again. I tested the pick up coil for resistance between the A and B terminal and from the A positive terminal to the post. Both were in range of specifications. I then tested the pulse from the B negative terminal to battery negative. It fluctuated between 9.1 and 9.4 volts. I have no spark coming from the cap to the plug wires. Even though the pickup coil seems to test OK, I still suspect it. Am I right? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Check your igniter unit. What codes are you getting? Did you read the FAQ?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I checked a few more things. The main relay does click when I turn the key to the on position. I tested all the fuses. They were all good. I checked for codes and there were none. I then tested the igniter unit. It tested good. However when checking for continuity between the white wire and body ground it tested at 197.7K ohms. This seems high. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
