Open Hot indicated on GFI tester
I have a GFI outlet and a switch in the same box. The light to the switch does not go on. The GFI does not work. The breaker in the GFI does not flip back to working order. I have not yet opened the box to check the wiring. What does Open Hot mean on the GFI tester?
    Thanks

I would remove anything on the load side of the GFI, and try to reset. Also make sure the hot goes to Line Hot, and neutral goes to Line Neutral. If you are connecting the Load side of the GFI to the light switch, the neutral must also be on the Load side of the GFI.
