    No Insurance Car incident
My wife was involved in a car accident that turned out to be her fault. However, this was a judgement passed on by the policeman who was at the scene and the way the incident occurred I really believe it to be the other drivers fault. Non the less we did not have insurance on our car when this accident occurred and the other drivers insurance agency is sending us a bill. Of course the balance that they say we owe them is extremely high and I do not feel it is valid but I feel that I have no room to dispute this because of my negligence in not having car insurance. If I contact the insurance agency and give them what I think is fair in this matter can the agency still take me to court or is this a situation in where if I don't pay it, it will go on my credit report and nothing else?

What does that have to do with any thing. Unless the law where you lives says you HAVE TO HAVE car insurance, you have done nothing wrong and therefore, plenty of room.

If they accept your offer, then the issue is settled. However, if they do not accept your offer, they will take you to court (i.e. sue you). It won't go on your credit report (at least in the beginning) as this is a civil matter. If you lose the court case and don't pay, that is a different story.

    Repair
Hello, Can I assume you are in the US, not mexico, or Cuba ( can they access the internet in Cuba? )

    Well anyway,

First the officer gave you a ticket and claims it is your fault. That does not mean legally it is your fault, just that he gave you a ticket for it.
Lots of time that no insurance car make it look more like your fault to a lot of people.

First if you don't plead guilty but plead NOLO to the ticket that the officer gave you ( not the no insurance one) but for what ever the charge was.
Then the ticket can not be used against you in court.

Then of course they would have to sue you for any damages and prove it was your fault, they could use the officers write up, but you could offer evidence and/or witness to why it was not your fault.

Next you are liable for damages to their auto and medical bills and/or loss work time if it is your fault. So what are they asking for?

If it is repair only ask for a completed receipt from the repair shop for the damages. I would not pay anything unless they could prove to me it was actual charges for the accident. And even then I may make them sue me for it, if I knew it was not my fault.
