    Insurance send me a check
    Dear all

After the insurance send to me to an auto body shop for an estimation. The insurance company send me a check without give me any clue about the containte of the report and what this payment includes. In other words they do not let me know the containts of the report and never asked me if I agree with this report.
Is it a regular settelment procedure or is any thing that I should be aware of.

Don't cash that check. Just because they sent it doesn't mean the deal is done.
Contact your agent and sit down face to face to discuss this case.
They do hold the reigns over how much they'll spend towards fixing your car, but until the car is finished and back in your hands, acceptable, don't sign or agree to anything.
There is much info not included in your post about the car and any damage, but you need to take the initiative to contact them. They don't care about you or your car. Period.
Do you have access to legal advice?

Why didn't you get a copy of that estimate? Why didn't you get other estimates? I agree with Rich - do not cash that check until you exactly know what is going on. If you cash that check, that means you agree to that settlement. What happens if the money does not cover the damages? Body shops are known for finding other things once they start.

Please contact your insurance agent and find out what all is going on. Do not let them walk over you in this. You have the right to know what is in the estimate. Is this your car insurance company or the other person involved in the accident? Would not matter - you have the right to examine the estimate.

Never cash the check, when you cash it, you are basically agreeing that is payment in full. You want to know first what the cost of the repair is, and review the estimate, next you want the repair completely done first and you want to be satisfied with the work. And depending on how much damage there was, sometimes you are due money for loss of value of the car also.
